We got to take Lily to Boo at the Zoo this year and I was so excited for her to check it out! We hadn't been back to the zoo since her first birthday, so I was really looking forward to her reaction to all the animals. Not to mention the fact that 2 baby gorillas were born at our zoo recently and I have been dying to see them in person!

So, we got Lily's costume all ready, packed up the car and headed out early Sunday morning to meet Nana and Paca at the zoo. Boo at the Zoo was in full swing when we got there - Lily got to make a drum, bang on some other drums, vote for her favorite pumpkin (carved by zookeepers) and walk around in full Princess Leia garb.

Besides seeing all the animals, we also got to visit the Dinosaur exhibit - Lily's face when she saw the T-Rex was priceless!

But, my favorite part - besides seeing Lily's reaction to all the animals - was checking out the baby gorillas. The mama gorillas decided they were ok with showing them off that day, so they were right beside the viewing window when we came to the exhibit. It was so neat to be able to see them that close and it's a memory I hope Lily will remember - it's definitely one of those "once in a lifetime" things.
