Winterfest 2012
We decided to check out Raleigh's Winterfest downtown to see their Christmas tree lighting and to check out downtown all decorated for Christmas. Although it was fun to see, it was WAY too crowded - I don't know that we'll go back again in the future. Lily did really like seeing the big Christmas tree and all the lights, as well as getting to ride on the carousel. We wanted to let her ride on the Ferris wheel also, but there was such a long line, it just wasn't possible. I really think that they just didn't plan well with the rides - both the carousel and Ferris wheel were really small and only fit about 15 people on each one of them. Maybe next year they'll plan a bit better and we'll be able to enjoy more of what they had to offer. We did get some cute pictures during the day though, and that's always nice :)

Lily's Christmas Play
On Friday, Lily's school put on a Christmas play - her very first! It started off with her preschool director, Mrs. Crystal, and two of her teachers, Mrs. Kendra and Ms. Dacia singing "Oh Holy Night". Now, this is my very favorite Christmas song and I have heard quite a few renditions of it, but they sang this song so beautifully - in 3 person harmony, no less. It was gorgeous - gave me goosebumps and brought tears to my eyes. I have been kicking myself all weekend for not getting a video of them singing, but am hoping that someone thought to!
After that beautiful song, the preschoolers sang a few songs and then it was Lily's turn! The Two's and Toddlers came walking in to "Go Tell It On The Mountain", but I think they were a tad overwhelmed. Lily spotted us and just started bawling (completely unexpected from her!). But, she crawled into Ms. Dacia's lap and sang her songs and did just a great job. I was able to video all the songs she sang and although she's a little hard to see (and you can't hear her at all), it's still adorable.

Happy Anniversary to Us!
Thursday, December 6th was our 4th wedding anniversary - it's so hard to believe it's been 4 years! I love to look back at pictures of that day and remember all of the awesome memories we made and all of the people with whom we made them. It was so much fun! **Warning: I couldn't decide how to narrow down my faves, so there are a LOT of wedding pictures coming up!**
This year, we decided to keep it pretty low-key and really just enjoy the time together. Lily went to stay with Nana and Paca that Saturday night (actually in Raleigh at the Embassy Suites they love) and we had a night and pretty much all of the next day to ourselves. We went out to eat at McCormick and Schmicks (sidenote - holy cow, how yummy it was! Delicious food, yummy drinks and fantastic dessert! yum yum yum), did a little shopping and then went home to enjoy a movie together (Wrath of the Titans - actually not too bad). The next morning we went out for brunch and then headed to Lowes for some Christmas lights. Of course, that turned into a couple of lighting improvement projects for the house... which we now love! Then one more stop at Wal-Mart, before heading home to enjoy the rest of the day together.
Nana and Paca dropped Lily back off with us around 7 that night and stayed for dinner - Aunt Katie stopped by on her way home from Virginia and had dinner with us too! We had a great weekend and a great 4 year anniversary. :)
Happy Anniversary, babe, I love you!

Lily's Field Trip
The week after Thanksgiving, Lily's class had a field trip to Golden Corral to go behind the scenes and check out all of the food prep areas and make their own pizzas! Daddy got to go with her this time and from what I understand, they had a great time.
Waiting to make her pizza
Putting on the sauce
Now the cheese... (her favorite part!)
More cheese...
and more cheese....
Last bits of cheese
Now some pepperoni
Finished product!
Apparently it was tasty :)
