24 Weeks

We are officially in the 3rd trimester and so far still feeling great! I've been a little more tired, but I've also been a lot more busy at work and getting stuff done around the house, so hopefully the tiredness is just due to the busy-ness and will go away. Little Baby G is doing great, busy as usual. We head to the doctor on Thursday for our monthly check up and will get to hear her little heartbeat again :o) . Her nursery's still in progress, but we did find an amazing deal on a glider on Craigslist (LOVE Craigslist), so it is definitely moving along! Mom, Dad, Katie and Katie's friend Nicole headed up here on Sunday to check it out and eat some lunch (very yummy), so I got to show off both the room and her cute little outfits - she's already pretty prepared for her first few months, thanks to Aunt Cara and her cousin Sophie (and Nana and Aunt Katie!). We're still in the process of figuring our her name...we keep thinking we've almost got it down and then aren't so sure. Good thing we still have a few months left to decide! 23 weeks

We had such a busy couple of days this past weekend! After the busy week at work, it would have been nice to just hang out all weekend, but for some reason, I'm having more and more trouble doing that (I thought that was supposed to happen later...). Although, it probably has a lot to do with the fact that our nursery furniture came in on Thursday! We went to pick up the furniture on Saturday and had quite a time trying to get it loaded into the Jeep...well, the stock person did at least! In the end, between he and Richard, they were able to get it all in and packed tightly - after only 3 different tries. I think the stock person helping us was pretty beat after loading our stuff; he said he was ready to go home after that (and luckily his shift was almost over!).

After we picked up the furniture and grabbed a bite to eat, it was time to start steam cleaning the carpets...which was not a terribly time consuming process, but boy was I tired after doing our room and the baby's room and hallway. I definitely paid for the steam cleaning that night, but luckily was doing much better by Sunday morning. I pretty much collapsed on the couch around 6:30 Saturday night, fell asleep and woke up at 11:00 to head to bed (once the carpet was dry). Richard got to finish the steam cleaning on Sunday :o). We also put together the nursery furniture and put away a lot of the clothes, etc. we have, which makes the room feel much more like a nursery. It's definitely still a work in progress, but here are some pictures for now:

And here is the belly at 23 weeks! Let's hope the feeling good lasts longer than just this next week:

22 weeks

5.5 months along already - May definitely seems closer this side of Christmas! I'm still pretty comfortable and still have a pretty good energy level, so I'm hoping that will last somewhat longer. I've heard the third trimester is the most uncomfortable, so I'm definitely going to enjoy these last 2 weeks, as much as possible. Baby G is such a busy girl. For the most part, she seems to be up every couple of hours and moving around and sleeping the other couple of hours...  hopefully those couple of hours she's sleeping now will stretch into a longer time when she's here. She's still a nameless baby, but we're working on finding her one - naming is difficult! So many choices to choose from. Here's the 22 week belly picture:

Richard finally let me take down the Christmas decorations on Friday - although our tree still looked great. I still can't believe it did so well for so long. The living room seems a little empty without it, although definitely more spacious.

Last week (when it was supposed to snow and instead, rained) I had a little mini photo shoot with the Stella Bear outside and was able to catch some good pictures of the sky at the same time:

On Saturday, we got to celebrate the 60th birthday of a really awesome man and wonderful family friend (Happy Birthday Tommy!!) with a great group of friends, some of which we haven't seen in quite awhile. It was a blast and getting to see everyone and eat some delicious Texas barbecue (thanks Dad!) was a real treat. Here's an interesting picture of Aunt Marie checking out her football stats and Richard looking on :

Happy New Year!

We hope everyone has had a great start to 2010 so far! This year, we rang in the New Year at home, with a quiet New Year's Eve, just the two of us and our pups. I was even able to stay up to watch the ball drop (success!) - thanks to my 1.5 hr nap that evening. It was nice to spend the evening at home, watching all the cold crazy people on tv.
So far, our Christmas stuff is still up - including our tree. Our tree has now been alive and in our house for over a month - we're working on about 6 weeks actually. That's definitely the longest I've ever kept a Christmas tree, so we decided we'd let it hang out until this weekend. Although the branches are starting to be weighed down with our ornaments, it's still a beautiful tree and has hardly dropped any pine needles - I'm pretty impressed with the tree and all credit for taking care of it has to be given to Richard - he has done all the work (and I mean all!). It kind of seems like a part of the living room now, so we'll be a little sad to see it go - although it does have to go by this weekend :o) .
Here's our tree today, still going strong:

Our little girl seems to be moving around more every day, although I'm sure it's more that she's just getting bigger and I'm able to feel her more often than not when she's moving, rather than her actually being more active (and boy, is she ever active - definitely has her daddy's energy!) Richard was even able to feel a tiny bump from her today for the first time! Here is the 21 week belly picture:

And here's a close up belly picture - definitely getting rounder!
