Catching Up

So, my last 2 posts were actually posts I had tried doing before my blog hiatus, so they were pretty much already done - hence their separate posts :) This post is going to catch you up on our main highlights of the past few months, all in one!

May brought Lily's 3rd (!!!) birthday! It's so hard to believe she's 3. She's such a precocious little girl; she loves to sing and dance and she's never met a stranger (we're a little nervous about that one...). She loves to read and she's learning to write at school. She also transitioned into the 3 yr old class this summer and she's been loving her new teacher and class. She really loves to go to school - she was actually sick with a fever this week and wasn't able to go for a few days. She burst into tears when she found out she couldn't go to school! I hope I'll remember that when she's a teenager and I'm trying to drag her out of bed! Her 3rd birthday party was a Princess party and she loved it. Here's a few pictures from the party:

For Memorial Day, we headed up to the farm to spend the weekend with the Gabriel side of the family. It had been a long time since we'd been up there and it was so nice to both be up there, enjoying the peace and quiet (and beautiful scenery) and spending time with the family. Look for a blog on the farm coming up - too many pictures for a catch up post!

In June, Lily had her first dance recital and she did so well!! I really wasn't sure how it was going to go, as she cried through a lot of dress rehearsal and didn't want to leave mommy's side, but she did great! I was so, so proud of her.

At the end of June, Lily had her very first dentist appointment. She did so well! She acted like it was no big deal, she was a big girl and could handle it, no problem. We loved her dentist and I think she's already very excited to go back in December. Also - she now LOVES brushing her teeth, but really wants daddy to brush his teeth with her whenever its time to brush hers. It's super cute!

Also at the end of June, we headed down to the beach to spend a week there with my side of the family. Richard wasn't able to go down as soon as we were, but he was still able to come down for the majority of the week - something he's never been able to do before! We had a great time - Cara and Phillip brought their kids down, Nana and Paca were there, as was Aunt Katie. We went down to Kure Beach this year and it has changed so much from the last time I was there (granted, that was my freshman year in college...). We really loved it and the relaxation we got from a week at the beach.
