Trip to the Beach!

A couple of weeks ago, the three of us piled into the car and headed down to Kure Beach for a long weekend - and it was oh, so nice! Definitely just what we needed. We found a condo at the Ocean Dunes complex, for a really reasonable price, and really enjoyed our stay there - I think it will be a place we'll rent again. The complex was ocean front, which is hard to find for a reasonable price at the bigger beaches, and had a rec center with tennis courts, basketball, a playground, shuffleboard, a workout room and a huge indoor pool. 

We headed down Thursday evening after work and got there right around 8 - it was a great drive, including stopping by the rental office for our keys and grabbing dinner as well. And it was really nice to wake up at the beach on Friday morning. After breakfast, we headed right down to walk on the beach and to enjoy the absolutely beautiful morning. We got some great pictures and enjoyed a nice walk before heading back for lunch and naps. That afternoon, taking advantage of the beautiful weather again, we headed back down to the beach for some playtime in the sand. Once we'd gotten our fill, we headed back up to the condo to get ready for dinner that night at the Oceanic! One of our absolutely favorite beach restaurants. Dinner was great, but the view was even better. After dinner, we headed back home for some family hang out time and then crashed.

On Saturday, we woke up to a slightly overcast day, but we were still at the beach! So, we were ok with that :) That afternoon we headed to check out the pool, so that Lily could go swimming - she is an absolute water baby. She loved, loved the pool and would have stayed there forever if she could. We'll be starting swim lessons next month and I know they're going to be a huge hit. After swimming, we headed back to the condo for showers and then to go pick up some yummy dinner from the Tangerine Caribbean Grill (again, yum!) for a dinner in (during which, we watched Dumbo - a new favorite for Lily).

On Sunday morning, we woke up and got all of our stuff together and then went out on the porch to say goodbye to our fabulous weekend view. We so enjoyed our beach trip - and we're already ready to get back again!
