The week before Easter, Lily's school hosted a petting zoo by Noah's Ark Ministries - how cool is that?!? It was such a fun morning - she got to pet a pig, a sheep, bunnies, chickens, a duck (quite a temperamental duck, I might add) goat and got to take a pony ride. Lily just had a ball. I knew before this that we already had an animal lover on our hands, but this just sealed it completely.
After petting all of the animals in the small pens, we went to stand in line for Lily's pony ride. However, another toddler had just gotten on and was starting her ride and Lily got so upset! We finally figured out that she thought the pony was leaving and was so sad that she would miss her chance to see him. After she calmed down and realized how the whole "pony ride" thing worked, she was happy to play in the grass until her turn came. When it was time for her to ride on Oreo, she walked up to him with me and hopped right on. She LOVED riding that pony - absolutely no fear, only happiness. It was so neat to see her do something like this - and then to realize that she was actually old enough to do these kinds of things (that was a little hard for mommy). Check out these awesome pictures:
