Black Friday was a girls day/night for me, my sister Cara and Katie, my mom and my Aunt Marie. We met up that morning to do some shopping (of course - it was Black Friday!!). We got some FANTASTIC deals ($15 jeans, yes please!) and marked several items off of our Christmas lists too.
After shopping until we (almost) dropped, we headed over to the hotel to check in and change into fun clothes for our yummy dinner. We stayed at the Embassy Suites on Glenwood/540, which was a change for us. We're all fans of the Embassy Suites hotels - they have the most spacious rooms. This one, however, was even better. It opened last year and it is a really great, reasonably priced hotel. Their rooms are awesomely big - so much space, nicely decorated in a modern theme and beautiful as well. I'm all for staying at this hotel again!
Once we were all ready, we headed to the Melting Pot in Durham to celebrate our day and Katie's 25th birthday. Dinner was delicious, as usual - I really like the Melting Pot. It's both a lot of fun and the food is always yummy. Especially the Flaming Turtle chocolate for dessert, yum! After stuffing ourselves with lots of scrumptious fondue, we headed over to hit Target before it closed for Black Friday - I ended up scoring another 4 Christmas presents!
On Saturday morning, we enjoyed breakfast at the hotel and then headed to do a bit more shopping at Crabtree, before everyone needed to head home. We again found fantastic deals and then decided to grab a bite of lunch at the Red Monkey Tavern. Richard and Lily met us there, which was really nice because I'd been missing my Lilypie! We had a good time and we need to repeat this girls adventure soon!!
