For Lily's 1st Easter, we decided to have an at home holiday. Richard was actually able to avoid working, for the most part, over the weekend, so we really just enjoyed our time together. I took a half day on Friday at work so that Lily and I could spend the afternoon together. We had a girls lunch at Panera and then headed home to spend the rainy afternoon just playing together. Lily took a little nap in the afternoon and I squeezed in some relaxation time on the couch while she was napping - what a great relaxing afternoon it was! Saturday was an errand running and chore doing type of day, but we still got to squeeze in a lot of family together time.
On Sunday, after we all woke up, we all checked out what the Easter bunny had left us - what a nice guy that bunny is! Lily really enjoyed checking out her Easter bucket (made by Aunt Cara of the Paisley Platypus) and in particular, shaking all of her puff-filled Easter eggs. She also loved hugging on her stuffed lamb and I know she'll enjoy her Bambi movie when we actually have some time to sit down and watch it.
At lunchtime, Richard fired up the grill and we had the first burgers of the year - they were sooo yummy! Nana and Paca stopped by on their way home from Virginia to eat lunch with us and spend the afternoon. After our delicious lunch, Lily got to open her Easter present from Nana and Paca - she really enjoyed going through her fun bag! I can't wait to put her in the cute pj's and pretty dress she got. We also took the time to put Lily in a dress that Nana had made for Aunt Katie - now both Sophie and Lily have worn it, in addition to Aunt Katie - what a fun tradition! Here are some pictures from our day:
