Last Thursday, September 1st, Richard/Daddy celebrated the big 29! He's getting mighty close to a pretty momentous birthday...
Since his birthday was on a weekday this year, we decided we'd do the big celebration on Saturday, so we just did a few small, special things for him on Thursday. We got him his favorite donuts to wake up to and eat along with his coffee made by his birthday present (a Keurig machine - the coolest little machine ever!) and made sure to pick up is favorite dinner, 5 Guys, on our way home. We also got him a yummy German Chocolate brownie from Whole Foods, along with a couple of key lime tartlets (also one of his faves).
On Saturday, we let Daddy determine (pretty much) what we were doing that day. So, we made him a yummy breakfast and then he headed outside to do some stuff in the yard. Later, we had lunch at his favorite place (again, 5 Guys) and headed to Lowes to check out some home improvement stuff. For dinner, we had yummy steaks and potatoes and after dinner, we had the best thing of all - German Chocolate cake! This is his favorite cake and I make it for him for every birthday. This year, I tried talking him into having some sort of variation on German Chocolate, but nope, he wanted the original.
Happy Birthday Richard/Daddy!! We love you and hope you had a wonderful birthday celebration this year!!
