Our Lily is 15 months old; how time flies!! She is a busy, playful, happy, hilarious, curious toddler now and we're loving every minute of watching her check out her world. She is now truly into everything; absolutely nothing is safe in our house if it's within her reach. She will check out even the most minute piece of lint on the floor (and it still usually goes in her mouth). Tupperware has definitely saved us - we have at least 5 different tupperware containers in the living room alone, full of all the odds and ends for various electronic systems in our house, as well as fish and plant accessories and they are safe for now - until she learns to open them! She's a full-fledged walker now and is rapidly on her way to steadily running. She loves to wear her shoes and tries to put them on all the time. Her favorite shoes are her squeak squeaks, inherited from cousin Sophie, even though they no longer squeak as she has removed the squeaker from both shoes! She still loves to hang out with the puppies - Oz is her favorite cuddle buddy and he really tolerates her hugs and kisses well. She also likes to climb over and around him, which we are working to discourage, but he's such a good boy - he doesn't seem to mind at all (or at least very much). We're pretty sure he tolerates so much because she's constantly slipping him bites of her meals.
She's eats pretty much everything, although we did discover this weekend that she is not a fan of grits - Mommy's girl all the way! She's great about eating her vegetables and really loves broccoli and spinach. She's also a big fan of shrimp and pretty much anything pasta. She still only drinks water and milk and has almost mastered the art of drinking from a straw (and thinks it is so fun to drink from mommy's cups).
This past Monday we went to the doctor for her 15 month appointment and vaccinations (boo shots). She did great, as usual, with the shots - only crying a very little bit. She weighed in at 21 lbs 4 oz, and was 30 inches tall, placing her in the 25th percentile for both - the first time ever for that!! She loved seeing Dr. Franklin, as usual, and played with his stethoscope like always. He always seems a little surprise at how outgoing she is, but I think she just really likes his toys. She did pretty well for the rest of the day after her shots, although she did have a grumpy afternoon - but she took an extra nap, which I think helped her a lot.
Here are some pictures from her 15 month birthday!
Also, here are a couple of videos from this week:
