How in the world did that happen?? We are already past the halfway mark of her first year and I am amazed! Lily at 7 months continues to be so much fun. She babbles all the time, squeals, yells, makes several other Lily noises and is all around, pretty noisy! Luckily, we are very used to noise in our house, thanks to the pups. They're not quite sure what to make of it when they're not the ones causing it though.
We don't have a doctor's visit this month, so I'm not really sure what Lily's technical stats are, but I can give you my guesses. She's filling out more of her clothes, still in the 3-6 month size, so I'm thinking she's right around 15 pounds now. Her feet are also peeking out of most of her pants now, so she might have gained a half inch in height or so. I'm pretty sure she just finished up a growth spurt, based on the change in her eating and sleeping habits over the last week and a half. Lily is now up to two solid meals a day, one at breakfast and one at dinner time. At breakfast, she has her rice cereal and fruit - either apples or bananas (we'll probably try pears pretty soon). She likes both of them, but seems to have a preference for bananas so far. At dinnertime, she has more rice cereal with some veggies, usually a mixture of sweet potatoes, carrots or squash. This week, we are going to move on to green veggies, so we'll see what she thinks - I picked up some peas and green beans to try out. She nurses or takes a bottle of breastmilk about 5 -6 times a day in addition to her solid meals. During her growth spurt, she was waking up to nurse during the night as well (flashback to a few months ago for mommy!), but the past three nights she's slept all through the night - and mommy is very grateful.
Lily is so interested in everything! Anything she sees that catches her eye she wants to touch, hold and then put in her mouth. She is absolutely fascinated by Oz and Stella. Up until this point, she was pretty happy just watching them every now and then. But now, she watches them, talks to them, shrieks at them and tries to pet or grab them every time they get near her. They're pretty much ok with the watching, talking and shrieking (unless it's right in an ear), but they're still trying to get used to the grabbing. It's so funny to watch them with her. Lily can now pretty much sit up whenever you put her in that position, but she still has no real interest in it, unless there's something in front of her to keep her attention. She does great sitting up in both the highchair and in her stroller and I'm hoping to try her in a shopping cart soon. She still loves to stand, more than anything else really, and will hold on to your hands while she stands or bounces up and down on her little legs. She still scoots all over the place on her back (and head), but she's started wiggling on her tummy as well. Most of the time she still gets pretty frustrated when she really wants something out of reach and will just flip over onto her back and scoot to it. Here are some recent pictures of the Lilypie:
These past 7 months have been the most amazing of my life - having Lily has truly been my biggest blessing. Of course, I never would have gotten this blessing without the most wonderful friend, partner, husband and daddy ever :) and I'm lucky to be able to share my life with him. Love you both!
