Happy Halloween!

The first post definitely needs to be dedicated to Lily's first Halloween - it was a great one! The night before Halloween, it was time to carve our pumpkin. Richard and I have our assigned tasks for this - I scoop and he carves. This year, Lily helped us both; I can't wait to see her scooping out the pumpkin guts next year! After Richard cut the top off the pumpkin, Lily had to check it out - she ended up picking it right up and, of course, it went straight to her mouth. Apparently, it was quite tasty. She also spent a few minutes kicking the pumpkin around, which she also enjoyed quite a bit. Here are some pictures from our carving night:

Yummy!

Pumpkins taste good

And they're fun to kick, too

Lily likes this pumpkin stuff

Apparently, so does daddy

On Halloween, we dressed Lily up in her costume and had a mini photo shoot. We knew she would probably head to bed before the trick or treaters showed up, so we wanted to make sure she got some time in her costume for her first Halloween. She was a monkey this year and a cuter monkey you couldn't find! She really didn't mind her costume at all - it was pretty soft, almost like a sleeper, and she didn't even mind wearing her hood. We got a few trick or treaters - around 11 or so, which is a few more than last year, but still not very many. We're the only house on our street that has a pumpkin and their lights on, so unfortunately, we don't get many kids. Maybe next year... We hope everyone had a very Happy Halloween! Here are a few pictures of the monkey:
