For Father's Day, Lily and I gave Richard an introductory flight lesson and we scheduled it for his birthday, thinking that would be a great way to celebrate his big day. I have to admit, I was nervous about him going up in the little plane - maybe more nervous than he was, although I tried not to show it. The guys at Burlington Aviation were so great and his instructor was really nice and extremely knowledgeable, so I felt better about it after we met them. We got to walk out with him onto the tarmac and take some pictures before their takeoff and then Lily and I just sat, watched, (prayed) and waited for him to come back down! I was able to get some pictures of him taking off, flying over head and taxiing to and from the runway, but I wasn't able to get any of him landing because of where we were sitting. I'm pretty sure he's now been bitten by the flying bug and will be going back up really soon - and to be completely honest, I totally expected that :) .
