33 weeks

Wow, it's hard to believe we only have 7 weeks left! I probably mention every post how it is hard for me to believe how close we are..but it is seriously difficult for me to believe. I keep waiting for time to slow down - so many people have told me how long the third trimester seems to be - but it's still flying by at this point. In our kitchen, we have a dry eraseboard calendar I update each month with what we have going on for the next month - it's a good reminder for both of us. Tonight, I put up April and realized that by the time I update the calendar again, it'll be May - and only 2 weeks until our due date. It really kind of hit home for me at that point and I even had a few butterflies hanging out in my stomach; I imagine that feeling will intensify as we get even closer.

So far, I'm still feeling ok, fairly tired most of the time, but that's not anything new. I have noticed that when I wake up during the night (multiple times each night) to head to the bathroom, at least one of my extremities has fallen asleep. Usually it's one of my hands, but when it's a foot, it makes taking that trip to the bathroom a little tricky - and loud, as I'm usually falling into things. I can definitely tell I'm getting bigger - not only by how I feel and look to myself, but by some of the comments I hear from other people, which is a recent development. I haven't had any strangers say anything to me yet, although I do get what appear to be sympathetic smiles when I'm in the grocery store or running errands. Mostly, it's people at work I haven't seen in awhile and I usually get the "Wow, won't be long now!" reaction - all said in a nice way (so far).
We can say for certain that Baby G officially has a first name...we're still working on a middle name, but figure a first name's a good start! She'll be named Lillian, after Richard's grandmother and we'll call her Lily for short. We'll keep everyone posted on her middle name, as soon as it's decided.

We had a pretty good weekend this weekend - although Saturday started out a little rough. Stella came in from her morning run with a weepy, runny, squinty eye - all of you dog people know that is never a good sign. Of course, this was at about 11 am and, as our vet is in Apex, I had to hustle to get her in the car and over there, so that we didn't hold up their day. After staining her eye (which is a lot of fun, with a boxer who likes to wiggle), we discovered she had a corneal ulcer. Luckily, we caught it really early, so the outlook was good - she got started on antibiotic ointment three times a day (also a terribly fun task with said boxer). So, we headed home, with her stained eyeball and my fluroscein stained pants. Arriving at home, we discovered that, on my mad dash out of the house, I had proceeded to lock the door with Richard's keys and cell phone inside the house - which would have been fine, except that Richard was not locked inside the house with him. He had run out to grab us brunch and I didn't think to check that he had taken his house keys with him. So needless to say, he spent a couple of hours outside, waiting on us to get home, while Oz barked at him through the windows. Luckily, the weather was beautiful and he had some food to hold him over. Stella went back to the vet on Monday and was pronounced healed - of course, she has then proceeded to come in bleeding after playing outside twice this week (which just doesn't faze her a bit), but so far, no big damage. Here's a couple of pictures of the Stella Bear - pretty sure this behavior could have contributed to her eye problem:

We hope you guys are all having a great week so far! We're on the other side of the hump, thank goodness! Here's the 33 week belly picture and a picture of our blooming Bradford pear tree:
